Edward Hopper, Girl at Sewing Machine (c. 1921)

Oil on canvas, 19 inches x 18 inches. Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection.

A single warm coloured wall with light coming in on a sharp angle, near the middle of the day this might suggest. A single figure sits at a table using a sewing machine. The room appears to be a bedroom or dressing room due to the appearance of a dressing table at the left of the painting.
